Let’s Go, Wolves!
My buddy Mark and I went to a Chicago Wolves hockey game last Friday night. It was Game 5 of the West Division Final of the 2008 Calder Cup Playoffs. The Wolves came in second to the Rockford Icehogs in a game that ended with a 5-1 score. It was a good time. I plan to get to more of the Wolves’ games next season.
Game 7 will be Tuesday, May 13. The Wolves and Icehogs are tied 3-3 in the series. Here’s to another good game. Let’s go, Wolves!

Go Wolves!
I only go to lower-echelon professional sports. I never want to sit in a big arena and pay a fortune. The game feels much purer on that level.

I’m with you on this, Robert. I don’t want to pay huge sums of money either.
I’m definitely an anti-elitist when it comes to sports, whether at the pro or amateur levels. It’s not that I don’t appreciate great skill and inspiring performances. Rather, I think far too much emphasis goes to watching the games rather than playing them.
I agree, too, about the purity of the game. That’s what it’s all about.
